Covid Changes Everything!
20/04/21 00:23
Covid changed everything. My billion dollar travel startup was dead. I was kicking rocks - literally. What "saved me". Animation.
How did you spend 2020. After losing close friends and family. I used an iPhone XR to make children's bible stories.

Kids Corner at E Street. The extent of my real world animation experience. I was able to minister to kids in another state and employ my creative energies. Something to lift up my head. Some thing to look forward to. Its tiny. Its simple but it mattered. One year later I am a believer.
A believer in the technology.
A believer in spontaneity
A believer in serendipity

Apple handicaps the CLIPS app IMHO. But we were able to do a lot! But there is so much more coming.

The Ratta & Coco Show is an impossible dream.
How do you get UNITY rigs into Jamaica (land of the power cuts) to do motion capture.
How do you get Destra, Aliane, Koffee, Sean Paul, Oliver, Ity and Fancy Cat to appear in your show with NO money?
It's not possible.
Until I saw this in March.
So this guy who made digital art for 15 years, bundled it all and put it up for auction at Sothebys for $100. The ending bid was $69 million dollars. Praise the Lord.
To come near our project. You better do your research! (LOL)
We intend to use the same approach to raise the money. Using SING

Its a faith move.
Faith.
Mustard seed faith.

Is this a viable idea?

If you are reading this deep in the blog, I have one question for you - 'Is this a viable idea?
If so we need your support. Tell everyone to support our cause. More importantly we need artists to draw some endangered Caribbean animal ASAP!
No artwork - No Show. Here are some below. (OK some look tasty…)

Pantomine Memories to Caribbean Comediaans
20/04/21 00:21
The lights went dark. The first notes went up. The Pirate Princess to me was the greatest Pantomine ever.
I still have fond memories 35+ years later.
Our art scene is suffering from under funding. The National Gallery needs help. The LTM has not had performances because of COVID.
It will take more than prayer and good wishes. As politicians of old said. "It takes cash to care."
Where are the funds for the arts to support the Caribbean going to come from?
It is my firm belief that we need new forms of compensation to rectify the years of underfunding and neglect of the arts. More to come.
In the meantime support the arts with your dollars.

Solomon, Corey and the iPhone X
20/04/21 00:21
After struggling with Toon Boom and Adobe Character Animator, I chanced on a video by Solomon Jagwe.

2018. Apple unveiled the iPhone X which allowed for cheap facial capture.
I fell down the rabbit hole.
Then I met Cory Strassburger.

His iPhone game turned movie turned game…Bebeylon. Was absolutely fascinating.
I learned about Unreal, blend shapes and film production using motion capture.
This video says it all
These rockstars directly shaped the vision of "The Ratta & Coco Show". I can't wait to get the funding to work alongside them in the future!

Ratta and Coco - 2008 - 2021
20/04/21 00:20
This is not an overnight success. "The Ratta & Coco Show" existed as an idea since 2008.
I have simply been waiting on the tech to catch up with the vision.
Well almost.
The idea to have an animated show featuring Caribbean comedians had its genesis in 2008.
Monkey Island came in around 2012.
The problem for me was that traditional animation could not capture the vision.
I needed something quick and spontaneous and fun.
I found it with Animoji's, motion capture and the iPhone.
Join us in this journey as we try to go from an idea to a wonderful life changing product.
